Empowering the Future of Agriculture
The Future Ready Programme is a 24 month training series. It has been designed around a need for apprentices to become more prepared for the formal work environment, through the feedback and experiences of apprentices and farmers over our 17 years of operation. We are currently raising funds to run Module 4: Safety in the Workplace.
As part of Module 4, apprentices undergo two days of accredited training to become a Safety, Health and Environment representative (SHE Rep), as most farm operations require a SHE rep. ISOMARK is our training partner, who are registered with HWSETA, TETA and the Department of Labour. The cost of the course is R950 per person, and we train 12 apprentices at a time.
Farms are inherently dangerous places to work, especially if apprentices are coming into a position with no practical experience. Having access to this training therefore keeps our apprentices safer in their workplace, and benefits their colleagues, but it also makes them far more employable in the long run and is a great add-on to their CVs.
If you are passionate about health and safety and would like to contribute to the well-being and employability of our young apprentices, consider donating to help us reach our goal.
