Amanda Ndlovu - Dairy Queen
My name is Amanda Ndlovu, I am 26 years old from Hopewell Pietermaritzburg, and I went to Umlulama secondary school. I studied Farming Management at Elangeni College, Mpumalanga campus. My love for farming started when I was already doing the course. My journey in farming been really great and I enjoy every bit of it. I love both growing plants and working with animals most especially cows.
I joined Future Farmers after finishing my in-service training at Buhle Farm in Bishopstowe, where we were growing vegetables. It was such a great experience for me. Now I'm an intern under Future Farmers. I'm working on a dairy farm, and I work with my favourite animals - cows! I enjoy every minute with them and I’m very grateful to Future Farmers for this opportunity and I see myself going far because with them you have a lot of opportunities ahead of you. My wish in this program is to expand my knowledge and understanding of farming, especially dairy farming, to go places with my knowledge and learning, and to go internationally to serve an internship. I see myself having a dairy manager position one day, before owning one myself.
Farming is not an easy job but with love for it you can go a far way and there is a lot to learn and understand.
