Nombuyiselo Cebisa is currently placed at the African Co-operative Action Trust (ACAT) based in Lidgetton in the KZN Midlands. She sent us some wonderful feedback on how her NSF funded apprenticeship is going so far:

Reflecting on my apprenticeship journey so far, it has been both challenging and rewarding. I have gained practical knowledge on crop production, especially the safe handling and correct application of pesticides. One of the most important lessons I have learned is the value of safety and responsibility in the field, because every step from preparation to spraying has a direct impact on both the crops and the people involved.

Beyond technical skills, this journey has also taught me patience, consistency, and teamwork. Farming requires discipline and attention to detail, and I have learned how small daily actions build up to big results over time. Working with others has also shown me the power of collaboration and how much we can achieve together.

Overall, this apprenticeship is shaping me into a more skilled, confident, and responsible agricultural worker, and I am grateful for the opportunity to grow in both knowledge and character. Thank you!
